G-VXLG (cn 29406/1177) What a view! This shot was taken from the LAX Encounters restaurant located between the north and south terminals. The unique spider shaped building was constructed in the early 60's and was quite futuristic for it's time. I like sitting on the northeast side as it affords the viewer a spectacular overview of terminal 1 and aircraft landing on the 24's. To top it off, my good friend Manas Barooah joined me that day. Needless to say we had a wonderful time and a good meal! |

Virgin's new 747-400 service to Orlando, replacing the aging 200's is a welcome sight. This shot gives the distinct impression that the photographers are on the same level as the departing 747. Whereas, really there is a 40ft hill in front of them and then a 20ft high fence before you are airside. |
