EC-HTD (cn 1550) Close encounter over the Pyrenees with IB3317 coming from ARN 2000' below. Overflying 'Lake d'Artouste' close to the border with Spain. The dam on the top right section is clearly seen. The lake is a reservoir and the small mountain train that was used for its construction in the mid 20th century is still used as popular summer attraction. The peak on the foreground, 'Pico Palas' [2974m] is the only part of Spanish territory in the picture. Thanks to Rafa Echevarne for the info. Dedicated to Iberia A320's fleet. |

HB-JMC (cn 546) Contrails are basically artificial clouds, visible trails of condensed water vapour, made by the exhaust of aircraft engines. As the hot exhaust gases cool in the surrounding air they may precipitate a cloud of microscopic water droplets. If the air is cold enough, this trail will comprise tiny ice crystals. |
