As we cruise into the Summer months, lightning and heavy rain starts to become more common in the late afternoon and night time. This large storm out to the west of the airfield was brewing most of the evening before hitting around 8:30pm with heavy rain which can be seen. In the foreground is Terminal 2 with the International over the back. |

N583HA (cn 25531/423) It’s always a treat to enjoy the overview of HNL with all 6 runways in sight (4 paved runways for airplanes and 2 offshore runways for use by seaplanes) especially the beautiful Reef Runway which was the world's first major runway constructed entirely offshore and completed in 1977. Besides the airport view, some well-known landmarks of Honolulu can also be viewed when approaching HNL… so, how many landmarks can you catch in this shot? |
