VH-OEJ (cn 32914/1331) My 1000th shot on A.net! Believe it or not, it took me over 3 years to make this photograph. Wunala Dreaming, a frequent visitor to LAX, rarely utilizes the gate at the TBIT which I require to make all my LAX night shots. Furthermore, it is even more unusual for her to hold while being towed from the maintenance area and into the gate, vital to the successful night shot. Well, patience finally paid off! VH-OQE (cn 027) I was lucky today, QF-11 arrived when the sun was at the perfect angle to illuminate her welcome. This "Welcome to LAX" stone sits in the park just south of the In N Out. It's also a great place to relax and eat your burger... if you like. Here we see ship QE crossing Sepulveda Blvd. about 12 seconds from TD on 24R. To top this shot off, northbound traffic crossing the LAX VOR is leaving a beautiful contrail. Local time 9:20 PDT. |

G-OOBM (cn 27568/593) Taken from T1 Car Park. Caterers are loading this 767 with food. Taken at 5am during a fine mist/drizzle shower after dropping the out-laws at Terminal 2 for a trip to Tunisia. Thomson/First Choice have taken up the entire lenght of T2, there is a KLM 737, but well and trully hidden from view. In a few hours time the line up on here will be mainly US carriers, Ryanair and Virgin Atlantic.(Canon EOS450D 28-105 USM II) |
