CA-01 (cn 372) Smoke billows from this Belgian Defence A310 after the aircraft developed a fire in the port engine on landing. The incident immediately saw a full response from the airport's fire section, although the fire had been extinguished prior to their arrival at the scene. After inspection, the aircraft was able to taxi using its own power under the watchful eye of a fleet of fire trucks. |

TC-JDM (cn 115) Operating as TK 720 from Istanbul, "Izmir" veered off a rapid exit taxiway and got stuck in the mud while exiting runway 27 on arrival around 4:15 AM today. The evacuation slide has been deployed on the opposite side. The incident happened close to the main runway, which will remain shut temporarily till the aircraft is cleared and relocated. All 97 persons on board are safe. Apologies for the picture quality. Many thanks to Sunandan Subramaniam for the edit. |
