Wears FN 288 with American Trans Air. Stored. United 747-422 in back started LAX-SYD-LAX service recently, replacing their 747SP-21. |

This aircraft replaced another Electra CF-NAZ that was destroyed after being sliced in two by a crashing Argus in 1977. This would be the last year of the Electra in Summerside when a Dash 7 would fully take over the Ice Recon operations |

RA-86140 (cn 51483211102) No more runway left = Must rotate! Look at where the 1000 ft marker sign and where the plane is! One heart-stopping takeoff! The front gear of the plane actually got up before the '1' marker but the body remains heavy. I think the pilots know exactly where to rotate. The Ilyushin also kicked up a large sandstorm on the beach and it was barely above it after finally airborne. IL86 is such a beast! [Nikon D2x, High speed crop mode] |
