PH-KCA / CA-001 (cn 48555/557) The arrival of the first KLM MD11. It landed on runway 24 because of the stormy weather that day. This was the only MD11 which came in the full KLM colours. The belly was not yet painted gray, and was shiny like a mirror ! Scan from negative film.

Delta Air Lines
McDonnell Douglas DC-9-51
Minneapolis / St. Paul - International / Wold-Chamberlain Field (MSP / KMSP)
USA - Minnesota, January 6, 2014
Remark
Photographer
N773NC / 9864 (cn 47775/888) The end of an era! Delta’s last scheduled DC-9 flight arrives in MSP from DTW as flight DL1965 and will later depart to ATL as flight DL2014. Flight numbers 1965-2014 were chosen to represent the years the DC-9 was in service with the airline. N773NC was originally delivered in October 1978 to North Central, which later became Republic, Northwest, and finally Delta. Many thanks goes out everyone at Delta for putting on a great show to retire this old lady.
