N804DH (cn 46124/511) Always pleasant to see such a beautiful aircraft, and it's only better when you get a beautiful SoCal sunset. Seen here arriving from SFO minutes before the sun dissapeared below the horizon |

G-ALYP (cn 06003) The first production Comet 1 (nearest) first flew on 9 January 1951. It was delivered to BOAC on 13 March 1952 and performed the world's first scheduled jet airliner flight Heathrow-Johannesburg on 2 May 1952. It crashed on 10 January 1954 after structural failure near Elba after take-off from Rome. DH's Comet 1 prototypes G-ALVG and G-ALZK (far) complete the then world-beating formation of this, the most beautiful jetliner built. Each has a slightly different fin scheme. Obtained from DH 50 years ago. |

N749NL (cn 2604) 4 Wright R-3350’s at 45 inch manifold pressure producing a combined total of 10.000bhp kicks up the dust when our Connie does her first full blast taxi run in 5 years. After many years of drawbacks everything is sorted both technical as well as financial and all of us knew for sure that this year it was finally going to happen, the most beautiful aircraft ever created was going to fly ones again. NOT, last week we received a blunt NO from the board. |

N888DG (cn 44675) For those who have had enough for A380, I would like to show you another four engine flagship in the 50's. Flying faster, further, and carrying more cargo with more powerful engines under the pressurized cabin has been a normal evolution that we still follow today. Here is the true beauty departing gracefully from runway 32. Life is precious. Alive is wonderful. Deliver something to make people happy is brilliant. That is her true life is all about. Roaring sounds which I hope you could hear. |
