165778 / BR-53 (cn 70-2771) East meets West as a distinguished visitor to our little airfield floats past its derelict Mi-6 RA-21132. On occasion flying from the coastal city of Split, 165778 originally hails from the USS Mount Whitney - command ship of the US Navy's 6th Fleet - which had recently undergone a major overhaul in Croatia. |

08-03775 (cn M-3775) "Crazy 22" preparing to swing round and head back towards the apron after a late afernoon rappelling exercise. Part of a four-strong US helicopter presence - including sister ship 07-03774 and two Navy MH-60S Knighthawks - 08-03775 was in town to participate in the Jackal Stone 12 NATO exercise. |

C-FTNB (cn 57002) The eighth foreign helicopter - and the second GlobalRanger - to visit Lucko this year, C-FTNB is seen warm and dry in the police squadron hangar as a downpour rages outside. Fitted out with a full HEMS interior, this helicopter was in town for an official presentation to Police, Air Force and Mountain Rescue officials as a possible replacement for the country's (non-EASA compliant) Mi-171 fleet in EMS and SAR roles. |

S5-CMA (cn 791) A clean, simple and neat cockpit snapped after a short 10 minute hop from Lucko (LDZL) to Pleso for refueling. Part of an earlier generation of the Turbo Porter, CMA sports slightly different instrument types and cockpit layout than newer-build PC-6s, a layout that actually gives it more character. Many thanks to pilot Damijan Cehner! |

S5-CMA (cn 791) The most interesting - and certainly the most hardworking - aircraft of this year's Lucko Airshow is seen taxiing out for its fourth skydive flight of the day. Quite a brutish looking thing from this angle! |

D-HLTL (cn 6599) First two US Knighthawks and Chinooks, and now a Budespolizei EC-155 all in the space of several days - our sleepy little airfield really is becoming an international airport. Nicely showing off its fenestron tail rotor configuration - pioneered by one of Eurocopter's predecessors, Sud Avation of France - this rare type was visiting on what appeared to be a demonstration flight. |

07-03774 (cn M3774) By far the most impressive visitor to our little airfield in years is seen hover taxiing to the helicopter start gates for a night mission using callsign "Crazy 21". An impressive piece of kit, this extremely rare special operations machine and its sister ship 08-03775 "Crazy 22" - both part of the US Army's 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment - are in town to participate in the annual Jackal Stone 12 NATO exercise. |

12-1276 Finally managed to catch one of my favorite prop singles - and a rare one at that. Quite a bit bigger than I'd imagined - and an instant sensation at the airfield - "Army 1276" is seen taxiing in along (the very uneven) taxiway A to pick up several journalists covering the Jackal Stone 2012 NATO exercise. |

S5-DDD (cn 5268) A splash of color at the airfield as Jago Stemberger of Slovenia taxis out for his run at the 2012 Adria Air Race. One of only a few Pitts in this part of Europe, S5-DDD is owned by another Slovene pilot, Tomo Poljanec. |

D-EAGP One of the most aesthetically pleasing aerobatic designs of modern times, the Sbach 342 - now marketed as the XA42 - looks fast just standing still. One of the six participants of the 2012 Adria Air Race held in Zagreb - some distance from the actual Adriatic - D-EAGP was piloted by Andrew Bickmore of the UK. |

D-EIXA (cn 006) Two extremes of piston single design in one shot - the slow, ungainly and docile Skyhawk, and the fast, sleek and aggressive Sbach. Piloted by Tim Tibo of Germany, D-EIXA was one of the six participants of the 2012 Adria Air Race. |

D-HEGM (cn 2774) Another fantastic rotary visitor to our little airfield on approach to the police helipad. Operating out of the field for the entire week, this good looking machine was in town for the IPA-CRO FLOODS 2012 international civil defense exercise. |

N10984 (cn 57003) Nothing like a big helicopter to liven up a slow afternoon at the airfield. Lifting off towards Zagreb Intl., this Bell demonstrator - the third of the type built - was several legs into a trans-european sales trip, and had stopped off in Zagreb to give a few short promo flights. |

D-ETHW (cn U206-03923) Powering up with a whine before another skydive flight. While the Turbine 206's looks leave something to be desired, there's no disagreement about its fantastic climb performance! |
