D-ABDC (cn 2654) After appr. 4.5 hours we reached Svalbard-Spitsbergen, about 78° North. As the visibility was acceptable, the pilot decided to perform a "long approach" into Longyearbjen, so we got this breathtaking view of the mountains and glaciers of the untouched land beyond us. Pure Ice Age! Thanks to the guys of Polarflug / Airevents and Air Berlin for this enriching experience. |

These off-wing slides and door ramps were later removed and doors 3 left and right de-activated. A satisfactory evacuation could be accomplished using the remaining 8 main deck doors plus the upper deck door. |
