C-GPWB (cn 22684/52) After take off of AC110 to Calgary we took a 180 degree turn just south of the airport. As you can see, a Horizon Dash-8 was next in line along with a another 767 from AC and a few 747's from Air Canada, Cathay and Japan Air. Taken from seat 1A. Vancouver and Toronto are my favorite Canadian airports to shoot at. |

- here's a very unique view of the entire Sea Island in which YVR is located, from 6,500ft. You can clearly see the runway extension and run-up area being built on 08R, the UPS facilities on the north side, along with the outlines for further terminal extension to the west from the international area. Believe me, it's quite rare to get such a clear view of Torbay from 37.000 feet. St John's is very important to North Atlantic traffic. Together with Gander and Goose Bay, used as ETOPS alternates, they are on 24 hours stand-by to receive an airliner in emergency over Western Atlantic. |
