D-EGFR (cn 160) Helgoland, the only German deep-sea-island with its typical red sedimentary rock and the famous "Lange Anna" (bottom left). After WWII until 1952 the island was used as a bombing range for the british. 1947 they tried to explode the whole island with the biggest single non-nuclear-exploding (the "British Bang") but they faild. In the back you can see the smal Heligoland dune with its airfield (HGL / EDXH). |

N***** Shortly after departure from runway 1R we were treated to a great view of the National Mall. This sort of departure is something I see almost everyday, depending on the wind patterns of course, from my university which can be partially seen just below the farthest flap. |

VH-EBQ (cn 1198) For me it's difficult to sleep during a flight.. So, instead I was stargazing and noticed the milky way band out of my window as we were passing Australia en route Auckland. Notice how the slats reflect off some stars. It's absolutely beautiful and I'm glad i didn't sleep! By the way this A332 frame is brand spanking new (manufactured in Feb. 2011)[Nikon D3s; Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8; ISO 12,800; 5-second exposure] |

D-AISU (cn 4016) LH804 from FRA to ARN on "Nördlingen", seat 29A. Beautiful view of the city of Stockholm after the sunset. Viewers familiar with Stockholm will recognize Södermalm ("South Of Stockholm", the island on the left), the area around the Central station (the concentrated lights on the right), and Gamla Stan (the "Old City", the small island in-between them). I tried a few times to take this shot, finally the stars aligned that day and the sky was crystal clear. [Nikon D700, AF-S Nikkor 24-120mm f/4G ED VR lens] |

We are on the Expressway Visual Approach to Runway 31 over Brooklyn, the three bridges visible are left to right , Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Williamsburg all crossing the East River with the Brooklyn Navy Yard in front of the wing. EWR is visible in the distance above the wing. |

N962SW (cn 7859) "This is from the flight deck. OK, folks, from now for five minutes or so, looks like you will have a wonderful view of downtown Chicago on your left. I will switch the seatbelt sign on, so please be seated and enjoy the view. Thank you for choosing SkyWest and Happy Holidays to you all!" The captain brought our flight UA6828 to Runway 27 Left for smooth landing. I know this is a damn difficult image to capture; but, that will not prevent my passion for photography as it was absolutely beautiful moment. |

N558UA (cn 26654/462) This is the night impression of Dallas Fort Worth Airport from the northwest. After enjoying over the "Channel 9" (aka from the flight deck) from Denver for two hours as UA296, we are welcomed by this magnificent landscape which was taken shortly before landing Runway 36 Right at that airport. From our port side window, we could observe the entire airport along with Dallas downtown in the far distance. It might be a rare opportunity to observe this 'big picture' under such a crisp condition. What a view! |
