Grand 51 Mustang
Fargo - Hector International (FAR / KFAR)
USA - North Dakota, December 29, 2012
Remark
Photographer
N2650N (cn 2002) This is the sole example of a Grand 51 Mustang (not to be confused with a Cameron P-51G). It was designed as a high speed "transport" for adventurous businessmen, but only one was ever built. An original Mustang fuselage was used, but it is powered by a Lycoming T53 engine. I have spent the last three years trying to capture it in some sunlight, but it rarely leave its hangar. It was recently sold and is seen here awaiting its turn in the maintenance hangar. I can't wait to see it flying!!

Copenhagen - Avedore
Denmark, September 25, 2004
Remark
Photographer
I have seen many sloped runways but a CURVED one is new to me. And next to a busy highway too!! Only about 60 movements a year though from this private airfield that dates back to 1917. Back then it was used by the Army and marine aviation. In between the airfield has been closed and hangars housing the local fire brigade.

N66EN (cn 1H-0314) Cockpit of the TS-11. Couldnt get in a straight shot as the plane was pretty high and I couldnt get in. Check out the yellow card though by the fuel display that reads "Warning low fuel" Like it was going to fly somewhere out of the museum :)

Fargo - Hector International (FAR / KFAR)
USA - North Dakota, July 16, 2012
Remark
Photographer
NX5577N / 74 (cn 6172) 28 cylindars producing 4,300 hp... its something you absolutely must hear. The photo does not do it justice. The plane was about to leave for maintence and then OSH. Many thanks to Vikkyvik for editing the shot. Edit: Sadly this aircraft was destroyed in a tragic accident taking the life of the pilot on 9-7-12.
