Messerschmitt Me-262B-1A Schwalbe
Pensacola - NAS / Forrest Sherman Field (NPA / KNPA)
USA - Florida, June 2, 2013
Remark
Photographer
110639 / 35 (cn 110639) This priceless two-seater trainer version was captured intact in Northern Germany and after WWII sent to the Armament Test Division, NAS Patuxent River for tests and evaluation. Later she was used as the template for reverse engineering newbuild machines on the the 'Me-262 Project'. In return she was restored to this immaculate condition and, although the link to Naval aviation may be a little tenuous, I was more than thrilled to see her at the National Naval Aviation Museum.
