Southend - Rochford (SEN / EGMC)
UK - England, February 1975
Remark
Photographer
G-BAPG (cn 344) Classic Southend waving-off terrace view of one of BMA's regular scheduled flights arriving. This former Lufthansa Viscount was finally broken up there in 6.97 after storage which followed use by BAF-backed operators Baltic and Hot Air

BEA - British European Airways
De Havilland DH-114 Heron 1B
Newcastle - Woolsington (NCL / EGNT)
UK - England, July 9, 1961
Remark
Photographer
G-ANXA (cn 14044) This was one of three Heron aircraft operated by B.E.A. based at Glasgow Renfrew Airport. It was used on scheduled services to the Scottish Islands and also for ambulance flights. Seen here in the second colour scheme to be worn by the type. Also note the strange nose undercarriage wheel arrangement, designed not to throw salt water and sand into the engines by keeping the spray down. This was necessary for operations from the beach airport at Barra.

BEA - British European Airways
Vickers 951 Vanguard
London - Heathrow (LHR / EGLL)
UK - England, August 31, 1962
Remark
Photographer
G-APEF (cn 709) Typical view from the Queens Building, this time in colour to show the colours of the time. Film was Agfa Colour negative film, which is rather grainy. No matter how you tried to photograph an aircraft on a stand close to the building, you nearly always got the buildings or ground equipment in the foreground and the pole with the stand number in front of you.

Cambrian Airways
Vickers 701 Viscount
London - Heathrow (LHR / EGLL)
UK - England, September 14, 1965
Remark
Photographer
G-AMNZ (cn 20) After nine years service with BEA, this Viscount was sold to Cambrian, this being the first colour scheme it wore. It remained in Cambrian service until June 1971, when it was withdrawn at Cardiff. However, it was leased to Air France for a short period from April 1967 to early 1968.
