KLM - Royal Dutch Airlines
Convair 240-4
Amsterdam - Schiphol (AMS / EHAM)
Netherlands, Mid 1950's
Remark
Photographer
PH-CEM (cn 145) A picture taken by my father. His account: This CV-240, “Meindert Hobbema”, is waiting for things to come on a typical 'Dutch’ day (clouds and rain cost nothing!). At the time I wasn't married yet and still a frequent visitor of Schiphol. I would have a memorable experience aboard a SABENA Metropolitan in the late 1960’s. We had smoke entering the cabin just after taking off from Brussels. After a quick landing we were received by a welcome committee made up of members of the airport fire brigade.
