This view looks west. Runways 17L/35R (8759 ft) on the near (east) side; 17R/35L (10000 ft) on the west side; 11/29 (7250 ft). This is the home of United Parcel Service and there no less than 25 planes parked at their giant facility; Kentucky Air National Guard base is on the east side just off the highway (I-65). |

Heading south at 25,000 ft. The narrow runway is 1/19 (5546 ft) and the wide one is 14/32 (8036 ft). There are a dozen large aircraft, including a Sun Country DC-10, on the left (north) side of the ramp which are being parted out. |

Looking to the southeast from FL250 we see runways 18L/36R (10000 ft) on the far side; 18R/36L (11000 ft) on the near side; and 9/27 (10000 ft). DHL Air Cargo ramp is at the right (south end of the far runway) while the big white building on the left is Delta's maintenance hangar. The big brown dirt area will be a new runway 17/35 (8000ft), opening late 2005, and rwy 9/27 is to have 2000ft added to the end of it. |

Runway 15/33 (5090ft) & runway 7/25 (4025ft) Southwest used to operate here, until 1993. Currently no commercial airlines operate at DET, only private and business aircraft while the terminal at the lower right awaits a new tenant. City officials are trying to lure Delta Connection. |
