N905NA (cn 20107/86) 1358 GMT (9:58 a.m. EDT). Touchdown! Discovery is back home. The left main gear impacted first followed by the right. The nose wheel is still up as aerodynamic braking is always useful when one carries a load like this. Welcome home Discovery! |

OV-103 (cn OV-103) The day before launch, I chatted with the guy in the Snack Mobile. "I saw the Columbia's lift-off from here; but, they've never come back. Shuttle does have to come back because we are always waiting for them to cheer," he said. I was moved. Yes, those who have someone waiting for you with cherished love are beautiful. People who have the place to come back are wonderful. In the America's Spaceport, the truck represents my feeling toward the seven bravest astronauts. Go Discovery! We are behind you!! |

B-18201 (cn 28709/1114) Int'l Terminal A at night. Cathay's B-HOX waits for it's return flight to Hong Kong (VHHH) while China Airlines B-18201 which arrived minutes earlier from Taipei, Taiwan (RCTP) is being unloaded and serviced. Though the terminal is mostly for the 'big boys', it also shares space with smaller jets such as that of Alaska Airlines and a few other airliners. |

View from the ramp control tower on Terminal 1 at 8 pm. You can see the apron between the terminal areas A and B mainly used bei Lufthansa. On the top you can see monitors which observe different parts of the ramp, in the foreground you can clearly see the ground radar |
