EC-HKN (cn 1347) Too low!!!! I was shooting a/c on Rwy 20 when I realised that this 320 was approaching way too low and turned the camera to capture it. Fortunately the truck driver hit the brakes before passing below! As you can see, you can get really close to the action here. (As of mid-June 2001 this road section has been closed and deviated) Aircraft was re-registred EC-HUL in July 2001. See a normal approach |

The AirCanada DC9 (on fire) landed only a few seconds before this picture was taken. The DC9 performed an emergency landing on 27L (today 27), when Capt. During the take-off, I heard 3 or 4 very loud bangs and then I saw the fire which came out of Engine 2. I took my camera and made a shot. What luck to see the flame because she was only visible for a few seconds! Please check out the original picture by clicking here. |

N509UA (cn 24763/284) With LH 744 D-ABVE. The two planes appear to be touching! The 757 is on final for 28L while the 747 is for 28R. The runways are 750 ft apart, so there is still plenty of room between them. Incidentally, Lufthansa 455 is seen here returning to SFO due to an oil leak and eventual shutdown of the number 2 engine. Note rudder is deflected to the right compensating for the failed engine on the left side. |

Heavy traffic at London Heathrow terminal area implies a few holdings at your Initial Approach Fix, in this case Ockham VOR. In The F/O Navigation display you can clearly see the shape of the hold. With the camera tilted 30º (same as airplane's bank angle) and this light conditions it is very dificult to hold the camara steady to get a sharp shot. This is my best try. |
