Fortunately the truck driver hit the brakes before passing below! As you can see, you can get really close to the action here. The runways are 750 ft apart, so there is still plenty of room between them. Incidentally, Lufthansa 455 is seen here returning to SFO due to an oil leak and eventual shutdown of the number 2 engine. Heavy traffic at London Heathrow terminal area implies a few holdings at your Initial Approach Fix, in this case Ockham VOR. In The F/O Navigation display you can clearly see the shape of the hold. With the camera tilted 30º (same as airplane's bank angle) and this light conditions it is very dificult to hold the camara steady to get a sharp shot. This is my best try. |
