9M-TGP (cn 48444/459) Three good engines are up and running! Transmile MD-11F is crossing the runway 32 from the East to West through taxiway Sierra which is located directly ahead of me. Showing the great angle horizontal stabilizer, this must be one of the characteristic angles of this attractive looking MD-11. Low winter sunlight makes this scene even better. Personally, from this angle, this color arrangement reminds me the Harlequin's DC-10 of Japan (subsidiary of JAS which has already gone for the history book). |

B-150 (cn 48468/518) Arrived from AMS 2 hrs ago. Taxiing runway 18 for departure to TPE. First flight was during September 1992. Delivery date was October 30, 1992 with China Als. Leased to Mandarin Als during July 1993. Other serials - B-150 with China Als. Sadly, W/O August 22, 1999 with Mandarin Als as B-150 at HKG routing BKK-HKG-TPE during adverse weather. Nbr 3 engine hit ground and right mlg & wing separated, skidding off runway & over turning, with 3 of 315 fatalities - r.i.p. 737 landing is Icelandair. |
