87-0117 (cn 48303/427) This USAF Instructor Boom Operator, prepares to conduct air refueling with a C-5 Galaxy at FL250 off the the California coast. The three primary gauges provide the Boom Operator with boom elevation, telescope(in/out), and roll(left/right). The joystick on the left control's the telescoping of the boom. The right stick is what directs the flight control surfaces used to "fly" the boom in the other axes. The KC-10A provides the boom operator with a spacious prone seating position as opposed to the KC-135. |

N747AE (cn 5065) HUD view from a brand new G550, only about 19 hours on the aircraft. Took off from the Long Beach Gulfstream facility on an acceptance flight. We are about half way between Long Beach, CA and Albuqureque, NM. What a beautiful aircraft....Thanks to the Gulfstream staff and Craig O'Neil for allowing me on this flight. Also thanks to Blaine Hammond for letting me hang out in the left seat! UPDATE...Aircraft is on the return leg from Albuqureque, NM. We never landed there just turned around and headed back. |
