VT-AIM (cn 25074/862) Have you heard the old saying "Suffering For Your Art"? Well I did just that. While running to get this shot I hit my little toe really hard on the walkway curb in the lower left hand corner of this shot. ( I was wearing flip flops at the time, feet exposed) A huge wave of pain gripped me, nevertheless I made it over in time to get this palm tree framed shot. The next day the whole toe was black and blue and stayed that way for some time. Yes, a shot I will never forget! |

VH-OEI (cn 32913/1330) So far this winter, there has only been two days with a reverse patter at LAX. But I was lucky enough to be there on both of them! Most of the time it's due to Santa Anna winds but this time it wasn't. Instead it was a cold front that was moving through, one was dry and the other one very wet. Anyway, enjoy a shot that is RARE for LAX, this 744 landing on 7R. I only hope we get a few more reverse patterns this winter. |

N122UA / 8122 (cn 29168/1218) In this large shot (1599X1089) we can see the true beauty of So. Cal. along with this United 744 so nicely highlighted by the orangish hue of a setting sun. Also, the San Gabriel Mountains in the background have a light dusting of snow left on them by a storm that passed through the area just a day before. This shot is particularly important to me as it was the first day I used my new 20D, some three years to the day after I received my (then new) D30. |

G-CIVB (cn 25811/1018) As Speedbird 269 touches down on 24R and prepares to roll out, we can see an American 767 which is No.1 in line for depart on 24L. This panoramic view of the north side of LAX shows us several points of interest. The hotels along Century Blvd in the BG. The raised passageway on the left hand side of the screen is the 96th Street bridge. To bad the green grass along the road below isn't planted beside the runways. It would be 100% better than the ugly weeds and dead brush they have there all year long. |

B-2460 (cn 24348/792) For the longest time I’ve pondered just how to shoot an approaching aircraft passing by the In-N-Out burger restaurant, and I think I’ve got it. In this shot you can see just how close the "Big Ones" come to you. There’s nothing better than sitting out side, eating a "Double Double" Animal style, and having a 747 scream past you! It's such a rush! So if you ever visit LAX, head north on Sepulveda and stop by the In-N-Out, It's an experience you will never forget!! |

B-18211 (cn 33735/1354) As Wietse de Graaf snaps away, Miguel Snoep relishes the beauty of this China Airlines 74's early evening arriving. Both Wietse and Miguel spent the month of April here in So. Cal. and we had planned to meet early on in their stay. But as thing go sometimes, other commitments got in the way. But finally, less than a week before their departure home, we had a nice meeting (and good dinner) at the In N Out next to the small park. As you can see the weather gods were on our side that evening. Landing 24R, 6:54PM PDT. |

PH-BFM (cn 26373/896) Boy, look at those two enjoying their Saturday afternoon. (just right of center) The guy is reading his paper (trusty scanner in the drink hole) and she is soaking up some rays. You too can be a part of this FUN! All you have to do is make you way up Sepulveda Blvd. from the main airport, to this beautiful little park north of 24R’s glide path. It's not more than a 10-minute walk and you are there. If you want to have a burger, the IN-N-OUT is just across the street to the north. This is LIFE at its best! |

B-16410 (cn 29061/1140) Hungry? EVA is heading right for the In-N-Out Burger stand that all the L.A. photographers hang out at. Traffic is mighty good on Sepulveda there. Check out all the cars in Remote Lot C compared to the shadow, it really gives an impression of the Jumbo's size. |

9M-MPD (cn 25701/997) Wow, I was lucky to get this one! While taking a shot of a SQ74 just south of this location, an LAPD motorcycle officer stopped to see what I was doing. As we talked, I spotted "Hibiscus" on downwind. Boy did I get excited! I told the officer how rare it was for this plane to visit LAX and I would love to get a shot of it. Luckily I made it back to this location with one minute to spare. So here she is, crossing Sepulveda Blvd. with the In-N-Out and small park just across the street in the background. |
