Vaso Airlines
Ilyushin Il-86
Phuket (HKT / VTSP)
Thailand, January 10, 2006
Remark
Photographer
RA-86140 (cn 51483211102) No more runway left = Must rotate! Look at where the 1000 ft marker sign and where the plane is! One heart-stopping takeoff! The front gear of the plane actually got up before the '1' marker but the body remains heavy. I think the pilots know exactly where to rotate. The Ilyushin also kicked up a large sandstorm on the beach and it was barely above it after finally airborne. IL86 is such a beast! [Nikon D2x, High speed crop mode]

USA - California, September 21, 2005
Remark
Photographer
N536JB (cn 1784) JetBlue 292 BUR-JFK makes its emergency landing at LAX. The front gear was turned perpendicular to the runway causing the sparks and smoke.

Airbus
Airbus A380-841
Singapore - Changi (SIN / WSSS)
Singapore, November 11, 2005
Remark
Photographer
F-WWOW (cn 001) The cockpit of the A380....my first ever upload of a cockpit picture and the first pic of the A380 cockpit. No idea what everything means, but it is certainly impressive! You can see the location of the aircraft by looking at the GPS on the EICAS and also a view of the aircraft from the tail camera view [Nikon D70]

Remark

F-WWOW (cn 001) A truly historic moment, on this day, 10:29am 32 seconds, the A380 first airborne! A new era of commercial aviation has arrived. It was an unforgettable moment seeing her lift up from the ground! This photo dedicate to all the Airbus employee, and local Toulouse spotter. [Nikon D100]

Japan Airlines - JAL
Boeing 747-446
Los Angeles - International (LAX / KLAX)
USA - California, August 2, 2004
Remark
Photographer
JA8081 (cn 25064/851) I've seen the Space Shuttle take-off and I've seen plenty of topless women in SXM but nothing comes close to a 747 coming directly in your direction just a few hundred feet below you! This was really amazing. It's a real air-to-air picture, no discussions please!

United Airlines
Boeing 757-222
San Francisco - International (SFO / KSFO)
USA - California, August 15, 2004
Remark
Photographer
N509UA (cn 24763/284) With LH 744 D-ABVE. The two planes appear to be touching! The 757 is on final for 28L while the 747 is for 28R. The runways are 750 ft apart, so there is still plenty of room between them. Incidentally, Lufthansa 455 is seen here returning to SFO due to an oil leak and eventual shutdown of the number 2 engine. Note rudder is deflected to the right compensating for the failed engine on the left side.

Remark

F-BPVY (cn 21745/370) Yeah, he is REAL low! If Air France had names for their aircraft like Pan Am did, we could call this one "Clipper of the Fence".
