CS-TTO (cn 1127) An overview of part of the runway, it's an amazing building structure over the sea. See how big it is, comparing with the Airbus A319 of TAP Air Portugal (CS-TTO). In the base of some concrete pole you can see some buses (it looks very small) and in background you can see the hill called "Pico do Facho". (photo with: 1600px) |

CS-TEJ (cn 494) Pedro Nunes. A plane in a bridge?!. No this is an airport, this concrete structure is calculated to the dimensions/weight of an 747-400. The runway has a lenght of 2781 meters, from that 1000 meters are built with 180 cast-in-situ concrete piles with 50 meters high. Somewhat like a building with seventeen floors. |

This only could be possible in Madeira. To have an weekend dance party bellow a rwy structure this are the words from Eric Morillo an international DJ that was here - About 20.000 persons dance bellow the runway until the sun come up |

LN-RRS (cn 28325/1014) An overview over the field, quite align with runway 05 and with the last lead-in-lights of the approach curve, there is only a few places here we could be align with the runway 05. The SAS with a smokey touch down but not at the middle of the runway, he was struggling with the tail wind on the approach |
