N88892 (cn 21831/440) Sorry for the quality, it was a bumpy day in the DA40... Whats up with G-BDXJ? Reg change, engine change and drop-tanks? Looks like a B-52 wing... maybe XJ is becoming an actor? Yes indeed! Badged with the fictional Hollywood registration N88892, it will be used in a James Bond film. For the Bond film, the two outer engines have been replaced with outboard wing tanks, while the inner engines have been replaced with mocked-up dual pylon-mounted engine pods under each wing near similar to those initially on the Boeing B-47 Stratojet. |

VT-AIM (cn 25074/862) Air India B747 makes its way over the swaying palm trees by the INnOut burger. It's always interesting to see a slowing of commotion as people gradually stop their eating, talking and playing around in the park to watch these heavies roar overhead. As I watched it glide in for landing over Lincoln blvd onto 24R, I remember thinking that I really liked this "retro" paint scheme after seeing it in person for the first time right there. {Presented in 1600 pixels to show the interesting detail of this great scheme.} |

HS-TGY (cn 28705/1164) The size of the B744 makes it look like it is lower when crossing the final stretch of sands before touching down on Phuket's runway 09. A pair of German tourists whipped out their point-n-shoots to capture this screaming beast. I capture them with the beast instead. |

JA01KZ (cn 34016/1360) Is taking off from Runway 32 intersection Kilo at Anchorage. The four main gears have cleared from the ground. As we had a light snow in early morning, fresh snow on the ground was distracted by the strong jet blast created by four CF6-80C2B1Fs. As I realized that this location makes me backlit, I truly hope that it could make the image focused on the grace of flight and majesty of 747, which I think it works for me at least. Simple background helps this scene to be more impressive in my opinion. |

JA402J (cn 33749/1352) Is taking off from Runway 32 at Anchorage. The gears have completely been retracted and doors are about to close. As someone had mentioned earlier, I have to agree that this brand new aircraft could be the largest mirror in the world which reflects everything in the surroundings. As this image depicts the forward close-up, it shows well the power of flight and majesty of 747. Whenever I can see the frostbite on my finger, it reminds me this beautiful moment. Winter photography is one of my favorite! |

N682UP (cn 20349/110) Is taking off using the full length of runway 32 at Anchorage. Snow on the ground was blown up by the jet blast created by four JT9Ds. Southern Air B747 taxing is going to be washed out by the heat exhaust. As I was aware that this location makes me backlit, I intended to take this image which has been always wanted in my mind. We are in 20F allowing us to capture such a crisp image. Yes, this was originally a Pan Am aircraft that I think I had seen her in Tokyo, Haneda or Osaka, Itami. |

G-CIVD (cn 27349/1048) While sitting in the park across the street from the In-N-Out listening to my AC radio, (128.500 Socal Approach) I heard Speedbird 283 come on frequency. That's not unusual, but to my astonishment the person handling the radio had an American accent. As they departed the Santa Monica VOR and descended to 2500ft, turning base and then final, I wondered how many Americans work for BA in the flight deck? Well, here she is crossing Sepulveda Blvd. with her American FO onboard, about 10 seconds from TD on 24R. |
