9V-SGE (cn 563) Ah, the winter time here in So. Cal. can be extremely clear, that is right after a storm. And on this day that was exactly the scenario that played out. A quick moving storm the night before had moved through the area leaving it sparkling clear, as witnessed in this shot. Here we see SQ 40 about to land on 24R at 13:54 PST. Just a note of change from 2006 to today. SQ 40 is now SQ 38 and the change occurred about a year ago. I'm not sure why though. |

The area surrounding the landing gear is particularly interesting, especially as she lifts off from LAX's longest runway 25R. It's length is 12091 X 150 Ft. that's 3685 X 46 M. Soon work will begin on the runways and taxiways to accommodate the NEW A380, scheduled to arrive in late 2006. |
