F-BGNB (cn 4511) Taken with a 35mm camera with no telefoto lens in those days, so rather grainy result. Note the open passenger door, the forward crew door would also be open as aircraft were not fitted with air conditioning, or if they were it couldn't be used on the ground. It was quite normal to see the Super Connies taxy around airports with these two doors open. Converted from L-1049C to 1049E, later to 1049G. |

N330AA (cn 22330/166) N330AA looking a little cleaner after a scrub-down. But the charred remains can still be seen under the wing. The most impressive part of the wreckage to me was the buzzsaw cut where a piece of one of the turbine disk 'departed' the engine and sliced through and impacted the other engine. Next Stop for this handicapped bird: Mojave, CA! |

N528UA (cn 25018/346) It is always a nice feeling to see the whole airport where we departed from the air. This outbound flight gave us a whole view of San Francisco International when we departed from Runway 1 Left heading for Los Angeles as UA886. You can easily observe the entire movement of this large airport with some heavies are about to head for Far East and Asia. DHL B767 in the cargo lamp and Korean Air B747 in the terminal really stand out among others. Company's 'color' must be an important identity in such way. |

N744P (cn 1287) I did not think I would get this photo op so soon ! Three of the US Heritage Scheme's in one photo but just barely as N744P is just parking on Gate 17 as N745VJ is ready to taxi (note the rotating beacon). Also pictured are N742PS, N765US, and NW N361NB, all A-319's not long after a major thunderstorm passed over LGA. In the background two Party Boats have just docked at the Worlds Fair Marina bringing fans to Shea Stadium for the "Subway Series" between the New York Mets and New York Yankee's ! |

N330AA (cn 22330/166) 12:30:22. The day is hazy and hot. I was taking photos to the Air New Zealand's 747-400 ZK-SUJ, when in the background I saw a big explosion in the engine number 1. It was the American's 767 N330AA. At the time of the explosion, the aircraft engines were running while the plane was parked near to the AA hangar. [Canon 20D + Sigma 50-500] |

OV-103 (cn OV-103) If you were an astronaut and were going to climb aboard the shuttle, the round hatch is the entry way. So this is how you enter the $2.4 billion dollar (list price) machine. The White blankets (seen here) coating the aircraft are made of coated Nomex felt reusable surface insulation. They are used on the upper payload bay doors, portions of the midfuselage and aft fuselage sides, portions of the upper wing surface and a portion of the OMS/RCS pods for heat exclusion. N330AA (cn 22330/166) Parked inside a hangar at LAX following a spectacular engine failure and fire while conducting an engine test on June 2, 2006. Look at the flap just to the left of the engine mount and you can see how warped the flap became from the extreme heat. Funny though, the aircraft rests on brand new tires. |

N88892 (cn 21831/440) Sorry for the quality, it was a bumpy day in the DA40... Whats up with G-BDXJ? Reg change, engine change and drop-tanks? Looks like a B-52 wing... maybe XJ is becoming an actor? Yes indeed! Badged with the fictional Hollywood registration N88892, it will be used in a James Bond film. For the Bond film, the two outer engines have been replaced with outboard wing tanks, while the inner engines have been replaced with mocked-up dual pylon-mounted engine pods under each wing near similar to those initially on the Boeing B-47 Stratojet. |
