VT-EVB (cn 28095/1093) Ah, the summer months at LAX! The lighting is Perfect for shots like this one. Local time is now 16:07 as this Air India 74 streaks past the In N Out on short final for 24R, with just a hint of condensation streaming off the trailing edge flaps. I also love the combination of reds, from the AI color scheme to the In N Out Burger building. Oh yes, let's don't forget natures contribution too, those beautiful flowers at the top of the tree. |

Looking east towards Century Blvd. we can see several structures that are part of LAX's history. The present control tower in the right hand corner of this shot. Just behind that is the "Restaurant Theme Building" bathed in purple light. It was built in the early 1960's and is one of the most (in my estimation) unique and beautiful structures in the world. The old control tower and new light art work finish off the shot. |

All the attempts by the pilots to recycle the flaps did not work, so we had to fly to Cape Town at a slower speed and lower altitude. According to the co-pilot who has contacted me, this has never before happened on a 737-800 and Boeing is investigating the incident. |

N70529 (cn 49921/1752) Ship 529 waits for the ramp to reopen after the lightening subsides. This was a spectacular storm and I only went out to shoot pictures after about 30 minutes of nearly continuous lightening. Really a treat to watch, but not very conducive to a smooth operation. If anyone wonders why the ramp closes when lightening is in the area this should be explanation enough. This strike was just outside the perimeter fence but this storm produced hundreds of strikes within the fence, according to the detector equip. |

9M-MRI (cn 28416/155) About 10 seconds after liftoff from runway 19R something happens with the left engine. Alot of smoke and fragments of metal and other material falls down on the runway. At first the pilots don't get any indications in the cockpit and plan to go on to Kuala Lumpur. Then we decide to call Arlanda duty officer to make sure that they have noticed the pieces from the engine on the runway. Shortly after that the pilots requests fueldump and return to ARN safely. N2**UP It is always delighted to see some snow on the undercarriage is blown off by the air stream. This UPS MD-11F is now leaving Anchorage from runway 32 with some interesting selection of cargo airplanes behinds. As this photograph was taken the moment after the sun broke through the peak of mountains, the orange hue gives us a warm atmosphere. In a reality, it is -9F (-22.8C) which makes me pretty cold; but, as you might know, I like crispy winter day so that I really enjoy what I am doing here!! |

G-BPEI (cn 25806/601) I don't believe I've ever seen a 757 look so lovely as this image portrays. I've always wanted to be able to shoot condensation and vortices during a sunrise, but until now have never had the right conditions. I'm really pleased with how this came out, and to think this is a just a "boring" BA 757! |

N888DG (cn 44675) For those who have had enough for A380, I would like to show you another four engine flagship in the 50's. Flying faster, further, and carrying more cargo with more powerful engines under the pressurized cabin has been a normal evolution that we still follow today. Here is the true beauty departing gracefully from runway 32. Life is precious. Alive is wonderful. Deliver something to make people happy is brilliant. That is her true life is all about. Roaring sounds which I hope you could hear. |
