At first the pilots don't get any indications in the cockpit and plan to go on to Kuala Lumpur. Then we decide to call Arlanda duty officer to make sure that they have noticed the pieces from the engine on the runway. Shortly after that the pilots requests fueldump and return to ARN safely. All 213 passengers were evacuated through emergency exit chutes of the 744 which was brought to a halt on A3. Notice the charred engine 1 cowling and the wing leading edge. |

CS-TKN (cn 624) This month of November had been really good for us spotters, with so many different things coming by!! Not being a different A/C, this one deserved some attention... These pilots were caught in some wind shear, and it was really close to total disaster, since the wing almost touched the ground! You can also see the stress in main landing gear... At that time, there were gusts up to 44 knots of crosswind, and heavy turbulence was reported! I'm glad that everything ended up well.. [Canon 40D + Sigma 120-400 |

LZ-LDC (cn 49217/1268) Not something you see everyday, a MD-82 doing a tail stand after the weather has drifted a lot of snow ontp the tail section. Note the towing-line and how all the men are pulling the nose back down using their hands only. The attempt was successful and the nosegear was carefully returned to the ground. |

Caused by a locked brake due to a broken line. Notice the wave in the grooving, this condition forms from continued heavy braking when the pavement is hot during warm summer days. |

N703TW (cn 27620/736) On July 15 ship 6802 suffered a bird strike during its take-off roll at AMS. The 757-200 performed a rejected take-off and in the process applied max brakes. The brakes heated up causing the tires to heat up as well. By design, a plug in one of the tires melted allowing the tire to deflate and break up instead of exploding. |

9V-SMC (cn 24063/736) Inspired by Mr. Hunt, I couldn't resist any longer to dig up a real Kai Tak shot. After spending some days on the building for the famous banking shots, I decided to go elsewhere. I found another nice roof and after a while, I was accompanied by a guy. Years later on, I discovered that it was Alan Tsui when I saw his photo on this site and which can be seen here. Compare and you'll find out that everything is similar.... |
