Remark
Photographer
N8859E / 410 (cn 20621/904) The sign message is almost appropriate for this scenario. Ex-Eastern and Pan Am. This photo was taken several hours after Hurricane Andrew devastated the southern part of Dade County. High winds at MIA blew this bird into the canal and it never flew again. It was scrapped in 1996 at MIA.

N8126N (cn 18277/107) Moments after sliding to a stop, the first passengers start sliding down the evacuation slide as fire rescue workers arrive on scene to assist. EA flight 274 was on a PBI-ATL-STL routing when the crew noticed a malfunction in the nose gear after takeoff from PBI. They diverted into MIA because of EA's extensive maintenance facilities. Capt. Wayne Nolan pilot in command. Another blast from the past as they say on the oldie radio stations.

Boeing 777-2H6/ER
Stockholm - Arlanda (ARN / ESSA)
Sweden, November 3, 2006
Remark
Photographer
9M-MRI (cn 28416/155) About 10 seconds after liftoff from runway 19R something happens with the left engine. Alot of smoke and fragments of metal and other material falls down on the runway. At first the pilots don't get any indications in the cockpit and plan to go on to Kuala Lumpur. Then we decide to call Arlanda duty officer to make sure that they have noticed the pieces from the engine on the runway. Shortly after that the pilots requests fueldump and return to ARN safely. I counted 8 of them, and lucky for me, at least 3 times I got the fire on the photo with the result like this. Remark

N364FE (cn 46600/4) Two years ago this little mishap occurred at MEM. This is what the NTSB concluded - "1) the first officer's failure to properly apply crosswind landing techniques to align the airplane with the runway centerline and to properly arrest the airplane's descent rate (flare) before the airplane touched down; and 2) the captain's failure to adequately monitor the first officer's performance and command or initiate corrective action during the final approach and landing."

VT-ESM (cn 27078/987) A Bad day for Air India! Timely information provided by vigilant passengers onboard "KONARK" bound for Riyadh today at 10.30am averted what would have been a sure disaster! Apparently, a fuel leak from the wings onto the engines provoked sparks and fire from engine1 (extreme right). Luckily, the fire was doused in the nick of time. All 213 passengers were evacuated through emergency exit chutes of the 744 which was brought to a halt on A3. Notice the charred engine 1 cowling and the wing leading edge.

CS-TKN (cn 624) This month of November had been really good for us spotters, with so many different things coming by!! Not being a different A/C, this one deserved some attention... These pilots were caught in some wind shear, and it was really close to total disaster, since the wing almost touched the ground! You can also see the stress in main landing gear... At that time, there were gusts up to 44 knots of crosswind, and heavy turbulence was reported! I'm glad that everything ended up well.. [Canon 40D + Sigma 120-400
