Untitled (Republique Gabonaise)
McDonnell Douglas DC-8-73CF
Frankfurt am Main (Rhein-Main AB) (FRA / FRF / EDDF)
Germany, April 14, 1988
Remark
Photographer
TR-LTZ (cn 46053/446) It was a foggy morning when the DC-8 got clearance for take off on runway 18, operating a German Cargo service to JFK. But instead of lining up on the runway the crew accidently turned into the parallel taxiway (only 1200m long) and speeded up. Take off was aborted and the aircraft stopped after 700m in soft ground with 2 engines torn off. This photo was taken one day after the incident.

All Canada Express
Boeing 727-277/Adv(F)
Miami - International (Wilcox Field / 36th Street / Pan American Field) (MIA / KMIA)
USA - Florida, October 28, 2005
Remark
Photographer
C-GACC (cn 20550/1030) This 727 was sitting next to a TransMeridian 727 when Hurricane Wilma blew through. The Category 3 winds blew both planes into each other. Besides the obvious damage to the wingtip, note the crumpled noise supressors on the number 2 and 3 engines. The damage to the other plane was much worse.
