The fare was $60US roundtrip but we returned on a new DC8 with one stop at Atlanta - we had to circle ATL for an hour or so due to an unsafe gear indication. |

I know many people around there are waiting for resuming the flight when the new airport will start operating in 2005. As I don’t know how many times this Centennial Spirit had visited Japan, here is one of such a flight with her Olympic special lively leaving Japan after sunset when the fuselage was just illuminated by the pink sky. |

N864DA (cn 29736/249) This Delta 777 had some kind of a hydraulic problem and made an emergency landing on Rwy 25L at around 1300 hrs CET with fire engines ready by the runway. The plane waited for more than a half hour on the runway/taxiway before it was towed to a parking position by terminal 2 followed by several fire engines as seen on the photo. The huge main gear bay doors were open during landing. Here it is entering the apron by terminal 2 |
