MM61850 / 14 The amazing SM.82 'Canguru' ('Kangaroo') first operated in 1939 and served until retirement in 1960. The aircraft was aptly named - she was designed to carry broken fighters in her hold. Around 850 were built during the war and used extensively for transport between Germany and East Africa. Later used as a heavy bomber. Actually MM61187, this example is painted with the 'Sovereign Order of Malta' markings. These were applied to avoid the aircraft's destruction as part of the armistice treaty. |

MM24327 / 278-2 The SM-79 Sparviero ('Sparrow Hawk') was both a conventional and torpedo bomber, introduced into military service in 1934. The SM-79 was instantly recognisable by the unusual cockpit window arrangement. This aircraft was operated by the Lebanese Air Force at L-112, and now restored to a 1942 Italian AF scheme as MM24327. Preserved in the superb Italian Air Force Museum at Vigna di Valle. |

URSS-N025 What a wingspan! First flight of the Ant-25 was June 22, 1933, designed for long haul flights. The aircraft was able to fly 7200 km, and the Ant-25/2 version even 13'000 km! Only 20 aircraft were built. With a airframe lenght of 13,4 meters (44ft) it had a widespan of 34 meters (112 ft)! A giant motor glider! |

G-BOAA (cn 206) I forgot I had this great shot of 'AA whilst in the maintenance area at LHR. I was lucky enough to get to visit the hangars that day and get this close up. This aircraft was not modified after the Paris disaster and was WFU 12/08/00 and stored at LHR (TT 22768, 8064 L) until she was dismanted and taken by barge to East Fortune for preservation and public display. Left LHR 04/04/04 arrived East Fortune 24/04/04. |
