25203 / RL-203 (cn 203) After an eight year planning and reconstruction, the full size Avro Arrow RL-203 was officially unveiled to the public. The Avro Arrow, a sleek white jet interceptor developed in Toronto, Ontario in the 1950s, could have been many things. It might have become the fastest plane in the world, was Canada's best defence against Soviet bombers, the catalyst to propel Canada to the forefront of the aviation industry. The Arrow and its accompanying Orenda Iroquois jet engine program, was abruptly cancelled. |

XD818 The only remaining full example of a Valiant anywhere on the planet, XD818 was the actual aircraft that dropped Britain's first hydrogen bomb. It was later moved to the RAF Museum at Hendon and now resides in the new Cold War museum at Cosford, restored to its original anti-flash white colour scheme (but completely impossible to photograph) |

It was sold in the Philippines in 7/74 then WFU and stored at Manila. It was later noted derelict at Manila 9/81. Is it still there? NX251RJ / CY-D (cn 124-44703) Miss Velma” landing on Runway 13 at 2:52 AM! It was plain luck that I could capture her landing, she and a Pilatus were due to RKV at 3:30 AM, but they came at 02:50. I'm extremely glad to live so close to the Arctic Circle, as there's no real darkness at this time of the year. :-) (the plane is part of “Operation Bolero II”) [135mm, f/5, 1/50th, ISO 400] |

N24927 / 27 (cn 18) Commemorative Air Force Airshow 2007. This aircraft was part of an order for the UK, but was involved in an accident in Albuquerque, NM. Consolidated rebuilt it to a transport configuration and it was used as a company aircraft throughout World War II. During this period the aircraft became known as "Old 927". After the war the aircraft flew in South America before being acquired by the CAF in 1967. In 2007 the aircraft was restored to the original B-24A configuration and named "OL 927".
