PH-DCH (cn 45383/120) A photograph by my father. His comment: I took this picture from the visitor's promenade above the departure hall. At the time the aircraft, "Orville Wright", was leased to VIASA by KLM, hence the Dutch registration. Sadly the aircraft was destroyed in a hangar fire on June 29th 1968. During the replacement of No.4 fuel-pump a shortcut came about which caused a hellish fire. Fortunately no one was killed in the accident. The plane was reduced to ashes. |

N10114 (cn 193L-1079) The TriStars sold to California's one time favourite airline, PSA, were unique in having passenger accomodation in the lower deck where cargo/baggage normally goes, hence the FAA required mods you can see behind the nosewheel doors. Plenty of great colour photos of the Psychedelic Red and Pink scheme on this site or you can rest your eyes with this monochrome shot. |
