CS-TKN (cn 624) This month of November had been really good for us spotters, with so many different things coming by!! Not being a different A/C, this one deserved some attention... These pilots were caught in some wind shear, and it was really close to total disaster, since the wing almost touched the ground! You can also see the stress in main landing gear... OV-103 (cn OV-103) Orbital vehicle "Discovery" sits attached to her fuel tank (orange) and two solid rocket boosters (white) while the crew access arm is fixed. The "white room" is clearly seen here. Also, the fuel lines that run down the tank and enter the orbiter by the rear gear doors is seen. It is sunrise on the first launch day (scrub due to clouds at KSC during launch window which would have prevented an abort to the KSC runway hence the "no go"). STS - 116 mission to the ISS. The runways are 750 ft apart, so there is still plenty of room between them. Incidentally, Lufthansa 455 is seen here returning to SFO due to an oil leak and eventual shutdown of the number 2 engine. Note rudder is deflected to the right compensating for the failed engine on the left side. |

N512MC (cn 21220/294) Ah, the moon! Atlas Air B747 has just arrived at the designated parking space, and seems to start enjoying the moon rise while refueling. Southern Air B.747 (N746SA) parks behind. Setting sun illuminates the peaks of mountains beautifully whereas the ground does not completely turn dark which is usually the case of snow. I wish you could smell the holy atmosphere that I felt at the moment. In a reality, I think it might be a good idea to take my way back now before the road will completely freeze again. |
