Difficult light conditions and all the rain coming down made this one quite hard to get. Details are there, though, just check out the main gear and all the water that gets blown around it. That 9W ATR and Kingfisher ATR look so miniscule and insignificant infront of the big beast! Doesnt it look like those fan blades are waiting to chop something up? MX A320 descended on glideslope from 3500 AGL for Rwy 24R while CX 744 did same from 2200 AGL for Left side. Cathay 744 was told to hold 170 kts steady so MX can land just a bit ahead. And the result was perfect approach with spectacular results. |

N649AS (cn 30663/1386) Wow! Northern lights and the Great Dipper!! This could be one of the ultimate window views that I could expect. Mother Nature surely does know how to pose for photographs. However, this is changing forever and could disappear suddenly as we are now traveling more than 700 km/h with 10 km off the ground. Definitely, this is a damn difficult image to capture where my passion for photography comes from. The red cast on the wing comes from the anti-collision light as I managed to synchronize my photo with it. |

G-OJMR (cn 605) I was trying this for some years but the right conditions were never combined before, there are too many factors out of control, sun setting lined up with the runway center line (there are only two days per year when the sun sets in that position), sun not covered by clouds, aircraft landing at the right time, rather a widebody. I can only imagine the view those pilots were having up there. |

The MD-10 flight deck is similar to the MD-11, allowing the crews to fly the two airplanes interchangeably. |

N621FE (cn 48792/636) Lightly loaded FedEx MD-11F is now rocketing out from RWY32 at Anchorage - because of the Saturday maybe? As the sun was suddenly jumping into the frame, it gave me an interesting yellowish hue. The thermometer in the vehicle showed that it was -9F (-22.8C) which made me pretty cold; but, as you might know, I like winter so that I was really excited what I am doing here! The horizontal stabilizer and tail section were shadowed onto the puff of clouds created by break dusts. Pretty cool effect I would say. |
