EW-275TI (cn 00347210) One of the coolest inflight experience I ever had. We were asked to go to the front section of the An-12. I wondered why. One minute later I got the answer. While a mechanical warning clock rang, the rear cargo door opened inflight, as if the crew was about to drop some goods. But this was just an exclusiv onboard entertainment:-) The door was open for about 5 minutes, an through it we could see the dark trail of smoke this freighter created! |

EW-275TI (cn 00347210) Approaching the runway in heavy rain in the late afternoon, with the runway light well visible through the wet windows of the An-12's glase nose. Seconds later a go-around was initiated to demonstrate the performance of this freighter. Built in 1970, it was registered as RA-13392 in may 1993 and operated by Airstars, and later by Kosmos Aviation. Many thanks to the great Ruby Star crew, Airevents and Merlintour, without their connections and organisation this photo would not have been possible to take. |
