G-APDB (cn 06403) A rare look inside the cockpit of this historic aircraft. Havind made it's maiden flight in July 1958, the aircraft was delivered to BOAC soon after before making history on 4th October 1958 as the first jet-powered airline flight from New York to London. Later in her life she flew for Malaysia Singapore Airlines and Dan Air, before finally coming to rest here 1974 having clocked up 36,269 hours which was the most hours of any Comet built. Unfortunately it was very dark in here, taken handheld at 1 second. |

G-APDB (cn 06403) The nose of the Comet preserved at Duxford. The design of the nose and cockpit was sold to Sud-Est for use in the Caravelle which is why there is such a striking similarity. |

G-APDB (cn 06403) Seen on tow outside in the winter sun having been inside the hangar for several years. It is outside whilst the refurbishment and expansion takes place to the Duxford Superhangar. A rare opportunity to see this being moved even if it is by a tug and to be able to get pictures without barriers etc. |

G-APDB (cn 06403) Concorde and Comet allowed outside to breath for a few weeks while Duxford's Hangar 1 is remodelled into a new "Superhangar". Once they are put back inside, they'll be in there for decades, so make the most of them outside! |
