S9-DBC (cn 0G3410) She was one of the last active An-8s in the world, if not the last. The plane had been parked for a while at the end of an active ramp, but early January 2011 Bravo Charlie has been dragged to her last resting place, opposite of a cemetery for citizens of Goma. She is in company of DC-8F 9Q-CLV, 727-100 9Q-CDM and sister An-12 9Q-CGQ. |

RA-69343 (cn 0G3410) We arrived in Volgograd the night before in our An.24 UR-47824. When disembarking this AN.8 was just landed together with AN.8 RA-27202. What an arrival in Volgograd. This is a photo taken from my slide with a Canon EOS7D and Tamron SP AF90 MM F/2.8Di MACRO lens. |

S9-DBC (cn 0G3410) Goma was getting used to the appearance of this old lady, nicknamed 'kit' ('whale') by Russians. Here the machine returns from its second sortie of the day. The plane has been withdrawn from use and was awaiting its fate at the end of an unpaved platform at Goma for while. Early January 2011 the plane has been moved to a spot away from the active ramps, and together with a DC-8, An-12 and B727 waiting for things to happen. Late 2012 the Antonov was seen with engines, doors and hatches removed. |

S9-DBC (cn 0G3410) This wonderful machine returned back to Goma at Friday August 4th, after almost two years of absence. The registration changed, but the crew is the same, according to people who work with Goma's Airport Authority, RVA. This is ex 9L-LEO. As in many other countries in the world, Antonovs have fallen out of grace and also this S9-DBC is withdrawn from use. The plane serves as shelter from sun or rain at Goma's unpaved platform (July 2010). |

RA-69343 (cn 0G3410) This one later became J2-KBG and EL-AKY and was being made operational again at SHJ last year. Probably is flying in Africa now. |

EL-AKY (cn 0G3410) May be my last shot of this nice Antonov. Rumors said that AN8s are not allowed to operate in the Emirates any more. |
