Grumman F-14A Tomcat
Marietta - Dobbins ARB (Atlanta NAS) (MGE / KMGE)
USA - Georgia, January 29, 1989
Remark
Photographer
159458 / AB-110 (cn 124) Apparently, this is just another Tomcat in the dull Tactical Paint Scheme, but close scrutiny reveals something of the unusual circumstances. There is a noticeable lean in its stance away from the viewer, and the right main landing gear tire has been melted down to the hub... This VF-102 Diamondbacks F-14 suffered a "blowout" on landing, and skipped towing by taxying on what was left. The crash rescue crewman on the left carefully watches for further developments!
