VH-HID (cn 1262) Built 1937. Delivered to USAAC on 23Mar1939 as a C-40A, serial 38-544, redesignated as UC-40A Jan 1943. Later regd NC48471, N37P, N299A, and N712FM. Arrived in Australia June 1982 as N712FM, based in Mareeba, Queensland. Owner intended to operate charter/air safari business, but did not eventuate. Used occasionally for parachuting. Oct 1983 stored at Mareeba. Regd VH-HID 16 Sep 1987, flown to Jandakot via Alice Springs on 26 Oct 1987. Later advertised for sale, and flown to NSW - still for sale in 2007. |
