XM296 (cn 14130) The Admiral s Barge of the Flag Officer, Naval Air Command, undergoes final ground runs prior to return to service after a 4-month Modernisation at RAF Kemble. Delivered 1958 to the Queens Flight at Benson, it went to 60 Squadron, Wildenrath in 68 & to 781 Sqn, RN, at Lee-on-Solent in 72, becoming the Barge that October & moving to Yeovilton in 83. It later became G-BVBI & was eventually sold to the USA and still carried these colours in 2007, registered N82D. (Pentax 35mm; colour print film) |
