Flying into an unlit airport at night wasn't easy, a fact illustrated by wrecked aircraft such as the C-46 ditched in the ocean just East of the field. Nowadays it more reputable; the Bahamas & Caribbean Pilot's Guide advises that it's an "ideal destination for pilots who want to see their parked plane from their room, enjoy a beautiful, unspoiled beach, and watch incredible sunsets." |
