N739PA (cn 19646/15) "Clipper Maid of the Seas" (Del 02/70). This airplane crashed after inflight explosion over Lockerbie, Scotland approximately 5 months after this shoot was taken. During our entire stay in the US in 1988 (7 weeks pure plane spotting) we managed to photograph Pan Am B747s twice ... once at LAX and once at MIA ... both times it was N739PA!!! R.I.P. |
