Two fatalities resulting in the only fatal accident for domestic US carrier in the year 1970 (would have been first nonfatal accident year). 48 passengers and 7 crew members were on board. At that time STT runway was 4.650 ft.

N8790R (cn 20240/717) Aircraft first touchdown and bounced appoximately 50 feet in the air, the second touchdown occured 1500 feet from the threshold and bounced 15-30 feet, third and final touchdown occured 2,700 feet from threshold (runway lenght at that time is 4,650 feet) were right wing tip settled and dragged along the runway. Captain called go-around but aircraft veered to the right and ssttled against the hill. Fire was not inmediate but took a couple of minutes to get started.
