USA - Air Force
McDonnell Douglas F-15B Eagle
Marietta - Dobbins ARB (Atlanta NAS) (MGE / KMGE)
USA - Georgia, June 7, 1989
Remark
Photographer
73-0108 (cn 21/B003) The first Eagle delivered to the USAF on November 14, 1974, AF Serial No. 73-0108 rests on the Georgia Air Guard 116th TFW flight line. It now bears the small title "TAC One", commemorating the much larger version it wore (on the nose and not the intake wall as here) when delivered. Also, the stripes on the rudder representing all the flights of the unit were a product of participation in William Tell '88. "TAC One" was retired along with most early F-15A's and B's in the mid-1990's.

USA - Air Force
McDonnell Douglas F-15B Eagle
Marietta - Dobbins ARB (Atlanta NAS) (MGE / KMGE)
USA - Georgia, November 1986
Remark
Photographer
73-0108 (cn 21/B003) One of two "family models" belonging to the 128th Tactical Fighter Sqn., Georgia Air Guard, this is actually an Eagle of some distinction. On Nov. 14, 1974, this was the first F-15 delivered to the USAF (with much fanfare; Pres. Gerald Ford attended, among other celebrities) at Luke AFB, AZ, as "TAC One". About 3 years after this photo, that title was once again restored to it.

McDonnell Douglas F-15B Eagle
Glendale (Phoenix) - Luke AFB (LUF / KLUF)
USA - Arizona, March 22, 2009
Remark
Photographer
73-0108 (cn 21/B003) The F-15B Eagle was developed as an air-to-air fighter with excellent maneuverability and a top speed greater than 2.5 times the speed of sound. This F-15B, designated TAC-1, was accepted by President Gerald Ford at Luke AFB on 14 November 1974 as the first to enter the Air Force inventory.

Remark
Photographer
73-0108 (cn 21/B003) Gosh, this is older than I am! Although the aircraft is now preserved at Luke, it still looks good in the 'Air Superiority Blue' scheme.

Remark
Photographer
73-0108 (cn 21/B003) TAC 1 was the first Eagle to be delivered to an operational unit in this case for pilot and maintenance training. Only two F-15Bs were on the ramp this soon after delivery. This is the short lived "Air Superiority Blue" paint scheme. TAC 1 is now a gate guard at Luke.
