PP-VQO (cn 24377/1719) We gonna have to use to be without Varig's complete Compass Card and the dark blue background... Unfortunately, from March 2, 2009, the Boeing 737-300 will no longer compose RG's fleet. For me, that's gonna be the "very last end" of VARIG. From now on, the fleet will be composed by B737 NG with the "half-star" paint scheme. I dedicate this picture for all the 47 years that this star shone in the sky. |

PP-VQO (cn 24377/1719) Varig 737 arriving from Congonhas is making final into Santos Dumont runway 02R with the company's headquarter behind. This photograph was taken from the viewing platform on the way to the top of Sugar Loaf. As it is rather tough for visual approach, airplane sometimes passes through the right place - to make the composition better. This is the spectacular approach which I wanted to see for a long time. |

PP-VQO (cn 24377/1719) Nice overview of down town Rio de Janeiro, Flamengo's beach, and Sugar Loaf (far left) in a calm winter morning. This photograph was taken shortly after taking off from 02R at Santos Dumont enroute to Sao Paulo, Congonhas as RG2410. As many photographs have already proven that this is the beautiful departure, I was so happy that I also had a chance to see myself. I tried to sit at the rear of the cabin in order to fill the empty space (sea) with our right wing! |
