RA-74008 (cn 36547095900) Note the additional "Paris-Dakar" titles. Presumably, this aircraft was used to support the famous cross-country auto race.

Gazpromavia
Antonov An-74
Ostend / Bruges (OST / EBOS)
Belgium, December 18, 2004
Remark
Photographer
RA-74008 (cn 36547095900) GZP9637 coming in for runway 26. Is there anyone who can tell me, what those small movable "things" are at the tail (painted in orange). I've received many answers on that question, thanks for it. Here is the explanation: The orange things you see on the tail are aerodynamic balances. They are fully rigid, and just an extension of the elevator (just like two "horns"). What they allow is to reduce the force required to move the elevator while in flight.

Remark

RA-74008 (cn 36547095900) The An-74 has a weird shape, but when reversing... it looks even more weird. The old visitors terrace in the background is blurred by engine exhaust.
