N62PG (cn 36A-031) An armed bizjet? Almost -- this Lear is operating under "Phoenix Force" for a USN missile defense exercise. The pod under the port wing is a Hays/Meggit Defense TLX-1 height-keeping target drone unit. The red target drone is towed up to 23,000 ft behind the aircraft, skimming the ocean at as little as 20 feet AGL, with no more than +/- 6ft altitude deviance. Definately not your average executive transport... C-2100UZ, 1/250th, F2.8, ISO100, 74mm. |

N62PG (cn 36A-031) Close-up of the Hays/Meggitt Defense Systems TLX-1 drone pod, with "Phoenix Force" stickers and a sticker I'd definatley opt for on an aircraft that's used to tease the USN's formidable array of ship defense weaponry. C-2100UZ, 1/80th Handheld (IS), F2.8, ISO100, 63mm. |
