HS-TGZ (cn 45924/392) Originally going to SAS as SE-DBH in 9.68, this Super DC-8 joined Thai in 3.74; note scrubbed Icelandair titles visible on the roof, after a summer lease. Bought by Sterling in 7.84 (OY-SBM) then reverted to the original Danish reg with SAS/Scanair in 1986. After conversion to freighter in 1989, she joined Aer Turas as EI-CGO then Al-Dawood as 9G-NHA in 12.03, later to Air Charter Express. Impounded at Lagos 4.04 and still there in ex-Aer Turas colours and dirty condition |

SE-DBH (cn 45924/392) "Ring Viking" was delivered new 18.09.1968 as 2nd of 6 DC-8-63s ordered by SAS, configured with 194 seats and 3 widescreens for inflight movies. Aircraft sold as HS-TGZ 27.03.1974, later OY-SBM in 1984, and from 01.04.1986 back to Scanair as "Dana Viking", restored to SE-DBH 23.09.1987. Sold as N791AL 30.12.1988, cvtd to freighter, later to EI-CGO and 9G-NHA since late 2003. (LH B737-130 in background). |
